Burberry Kisses - Nude Pink.

Last week I accepted a free sample of the new 'Burberry Kisses'. I chose the shade 'Nude Pink' and was very exited to try it when it came on Saturday! It came in this little box that just popped through the letterbox.

The lipstick itself was inside a traditional looking Burberry box with the logo and shade printed on it. The sample was more than I was expecting, it's a 1g bullet, which actually is quite good considering it was complimentary!

The packaging of the actual bullet again is again traditional Burberry Cosmetics packaging, shiny and gorgeous. There's always something so special and exciting when I get a product that is packaged so nicely.

The colour is absolutely beautiful. Very natural, and very similar to my natural lip shade. It's like 'my lips but better' ;) There is also no scent with this product, or none that my sensitive nose can smell, which is actually quite refreshing because sometimes I'm just not in the mood to have a strong scent right underneath my nose.

The lipstick feels very natural on the lip, with a satin-like finish, not sticky but not too matte. It's not drying and feels smooth and comfortable. You can see below how the colour looks against my very fair skin (as a guide, MAC NC15 is too dark for me).

All in all, I'm completely in love with this lipstick. They retail for £22 each which is a little pricey but I'm a huge believer in 'you get what you pay for'. I think I'll be adding a full sized version of this to my wish list, and maybe another one of the 28 shades.

Burberry Kisses - Nude Pink 9.5/10

Burt's Bees Best of Burt Collection.

Last week I was in Holland and Barrett and I spotted this cute little tin filled with Burt's Bees goodies. As someone who's a lover of Burt's Bees I decided I had to buy it!

In the tin were 5 different products which I've photographed and will explain about below.

The tin is really cute and has shredded tissue in it with the products on top. The presentation is lovely and I was really excited to try all these products out.

First is the Hand Salve which I've actually used a whole miniature tin of previously. They do this in a much bigger size but the small ones are so handy (pun intended) because you can just pop them in your purse or makeup bag. It's a little greasy but it's not tacky at all, it's kind of like a lip balm for your hands.

Next is this cuticle cream. In the same sized tin as the hand salve, this will last forever because you only apply it to your cuticles. I haven't given this long enough to see any effects yet but I'm hoping this works on my awful nails. Plus it smells like fresh lemons which is amazing!

This hand cream is so smooth and so soft it feels lovely on the skin. It smells like marzipan which I'm not a huge fan of but it feels so nice it doesn't matter too much.

As you can see on the picture it looks so creamy and thick, it's amazing.

I've used these before, I had the Lip Balms in a number of different scents. This one is minty and makes my lips tingle which I presume is good because it's stimulating blood flow. However the mint isn't as soothing on the lips as say something like coconut. It doesn't make my lips any worse but it doesn't make them much softer either.

The last thing is this foot cream. It's not actually like a cream, it's more the consistency of honey and it smells of coconut. It's very greasy, it gets runnier with the heat of your skin and you have to leave it for about half an hour to completely soak in. So it's not necessarily for every day use but it's lovely to use every now and then. The skin feels so soft for a couple of days afterwards and it's lovely.

All in all I'd definitely recommend getting this if you're a fan of Burt's Bees because there are some great products in this tin and it only cost me £20.

Let me know if you have tried and loved/hated any of these products yourself in the comments. I'd love to hear what you all think :)

Harry Potter Quiz.

I saw this on someone's blog and I thought, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, I should probably do this quiz :)

Favourite book
Deathly Hallows

Favourite movie
Deathly Hallows pt. 1

Least favourite book
Philosophers stone (Purely because there’s not as much going on)

Parts of the books/movies that made you cry
Fred.

If you could hook up with any HP character who would it be?
Ron.

Favourite character
Hermione or Snape.
Hermione taught me that its okay to be smart and studious, and be proud of it.
Snape taught me that it’s always the people you least expect are the most loyal.

What would your Patronus be?
Otter. I did a quiz ha.

If you could have the Resurrection Stone, Invisibility Cloak or the Elder Wand which one would you choose?
The cloak. It’s the smartest choice, the three Peverell brothers taught us that.

What House would you be in?
On pottermore I'm Hufflepuff, but it’s a long time ago and people change. I think I’d be Ravenclaw.

If you could meet any member of the cast who would it be?
Emma Watson. Shes a beautiful, smart young woman with strong views who isn’t afraid to voice them and that’s so admirable.

Have you played any of the video games?
All the ones available on Wii and all the Lego ones on ps3.

If you were on the Quiddich team which position would you play?
No idea. Probably beater because I can hit a ball with a bat haha.

Were you happy with the ending?
Yes. 100% yes.

How much does Harry Potter mean to you?
So much. I dont want to sound like some big soppy mess but, I learned so much from it and I spend so much time watching, reading, and finding out everything I possibly can, I can’t help but think I’d be a completely different person without it.

And I nominate any Harry Potter fan who is reading to also do this quiz/tag.
Enjoy :)

Top 10 Video Games.

I'd say quite a good majority of any free time I have is spent playing Video Games. I've played A LOT of games, and my collection is quite extensive. I'm a fan of lots of different genres, mostly Noir-type games and I like story based games, I like having something to follow. I decided to do a short list of my favourite games so as to recommend them :)

1. Beyond: Two Souls

This is a Noir game, made by the same developers of Heavy Rain, which will be number 6 on this list. It's basically a story, told like an interactive film where you can make decisions and those decisions affect the way that the story plays out, but you also get to take control of the character and interact with your surroundings and get to take part in situations like in regular gameplay for example shooting etc. It follows the protagonist Jodie, right the way through her life from early childhood to now, when she is in her 20's. This is such an incredible game, I've played Noir games before and they're always my favourites but this surpasses all of them. The story is gripping and I never wanted to stop playing 'till I got to the end. I would definitely recommend this if you like this style of game, or if you're new to gaming this is a great way to start off. I'd give this game 10/10.

2. The Last of Us

This game is like an open world game to a certain extent, but you're always on a path going somewhere. It follows characters fighting their way through a new world, filled with zombies, of all different kinds, and where the living are segregated by walls and gates and military personnel. There are many obstacles which prove difficult to overcome but the gameplay is absolutely beautiful. The story is great but the scenic backdrop of the story is amazingly life-like and looks incredible. All in all this game isn't an easy one, and I wouldn't recommend for beginners, but for anyone who likes a challenge, I would definitely suggest this be the next game you buy. 9.5/10.

3. Assassin's Creed

Most of you will have heard of the Assassin's Creed series, which follow individuals throughout history trying to figure out the answers to age-old questions. You get to play as an array of characters and get to increase your skills and wealth. The stories are great and the intricate character details too. I would definitely recommend these to anyone. 9/10.

4. Red Dead Redemption

Probably one of my favourite games of all time. This is a fully open world game, set in the 1800's you get to play as a reformed criminal who is ordered by the government to atone for his sins by capturing his old criminal companions. You get to complete an array of side missions too. This game play is very similar to the likes of Grand Theft Auto except there aren't many cars and you get around on horseback travelling through 'New Austin' on the border of Mexico, and then in Mexico too. There is also a DLC game, or you could buy the disk, where the world becomes overrun with zombies and you have to fight your way through that with only antique weaponry at hand. I've played this game over 3 times and it's still my favourite, and I can't wait for the rumoured sequel. All in all, 10/10.

5. L.A Noire

From the title of this you can rightly assume that it is another Noir game. You play as Cole, who is the guy in the image, he is a police officer working in LA in the 40's/50's. It follows Cole's career from constable through to detective, solving crimes and working with other police officers, but it also shows large chunks of Cole's personal life and how things happening at home affect him and his career. You even get to 'solve' one of the most famous unsolved murders in real history, that of Elizabeth Short or 'The Black Dahlia'. This is a brilliant game, and one where your decisions affect the progression of your character. I'd recommend this to anyone interested in a good story, and I give it a 9.5/10.

6. Heavy Rain

Yet another Noir type game, I mentioned it briefly when talking about Beyond: Two Souls because they are from the same creators. The graphics in this aren't quite as amazing, obviously given that it is a few years older, yet the story and interactions you get as the characters are just as great. You follow four different characters, all in some way connected the the disappearance and murder of children. One character is the father of a boy taken, one a police officer investigating, one a private investigator and one a journalist. Depending on how you play the game and your choices, you may or may not solve who the 'Origami Killer' (aptly named because he/she leaves a piece of origami with each body) is. It all depends on which characters are still alive at the end of the game. This game is great and I love how my decisions sculpted it in to what it was. I'd give this game 9/10.

7. Tomb Raider

When I was a kid I was always terrified of Tomb Raider games because every time I tried to play I'd get killed by a tiger or a wolf and it would be such a shock I never tried again, until a couple of years ago when I got given a Tomb raider game on PSP and I loved it. More recently I played the 2013 version on PS3, and I thought it was amazing. You get to play as Lara Croft when she was just starting her exploring, at 21 years old. On her first real expedition, you get to explore an island off the coast of Japan and you find yourself alone and lost, and have to reconnect with your team whilst facing many challenges (including the occasional wild animal!). 9/10.

8. Saint's Row Series

Saint's Row is a game I've been playing for years. The first game was good but they've got gradually better and better. You start off joining a gang, and then you progress and lead the gang in two different cities, one in game two and another in game three. By the fourth game you're president and the world is being taken over by aliens. They get more far fetched the further you go however, still so much fun to play. Especially given that you get to fight your rivals using super powers. I love the character creation part of the game and the option to dress your character to look how you want. I've played these multiple times and I'd rate them 9/10.

9. The Walking Dead

This isn't like a usual video game. It's a story which is decision based but there isn't much else. There's not much interacting with surroundings, and no open world features. Basically it's just following a story. I'm a huge fan of The Walking Dead in all of it's forms. The TV Show is probably the most popular and is so incredible I've watched it through twice, but I've also read the comics, and then played this game. The game follows a different set of people, navigating their way through the post-apocalyptic world like on the tv show, but facing different obstacles and you have to help overcome them. The came is split in to chapters, and there are actually 2 games. I'd give these an 8.5/10.

10. Grand Theft Auto IV and V

I've been a fan of GTA for a very long time, since the original Vice City. I think though, that games four and five were by far the best, no only due to improved graphics (especially in five) but also because of the story and the open world, and the social side to things too. In four, you play as Niko Bellic, an immigrant trying to make it in the US. You get to have an online dating profile, meet new people, and hang out with friends. In five, you play as three different characters, Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. Whilst there isn't the option to date, and you can't hang out with many people other than the main cast, the story missions are much more intricate. There is also a couple of DLC Games for GTA IV. 'The Ballad of Gay Tony' and 'The Lost and the Damned' can also be purchased in disc form. In these you get to play as different characters, with cameos from the characters we know from GTA IV. I loved these extra stories so much as you get to understand more about things that happened in the original story. I'd definitely recommend these, however don't forget they can be pretty violent so no playing if you're under 18! ;) 9.5/10.

Do you have any favourite games that didn't make my list? Let me know in the comments because I'd love to check them out. Also let me know if you've played any of these and whether you loved/hated them :)

MAC Sunny Seoul.

Last week I won a giveaway, for a MAC Lipstick of my choice. I'd like to thank the lovely Shaunica for hosting such a great giveaway and congratulate her on the milestone she was celebrating :) You should all go check out her blog. (And thank you for the little extras in the gift bag too!)

So I'd been after a few lipsticks for a while but I chose Sunny Seoul because it's coming up for spring and the colour is such a happy sunny colour on the lips. It's a pink which isn't too bright, because I'm not too keen on really bright pink lipsticks, and it's a cremesheen with pearl so it's slightly shimmery but again not too much. It's only slightly brighter than my natural lip colour and just adds something to a makeup look, and it looks especially nice against my very pale skin.

I'm such a huge fan of the cremesheen lipsticks from MAC because they are so hydrating and soft on the lip, and unlike the matte shades they aren't drying at all. Overall I'd recommend this product to anyone with any skin tone as I think it's such a universal shade. Below I've included some pictures of the product.

5 Drug Store Makeup Must-Haves.

In a recent post on my blog entitled 30 Beauty Questions Tag I was asked the question "What is your favourite drugstore brand?" and I struggled to answer it. I realised I've gotten so obsessed with high end products that I've forgotten my first love, BOOTS!

I decided to branch out and find some great products, and recommend them as a sort-of starter kit/must haves.

1. Soap and Glory 'Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick'.

These are super super light, and don't feel like a lip stick or lip gloss at all. They're very moisturising with a pop of colour. Almost like a tinted balm, but they're also ridiculously easy to use, shaped like a crayon you just smooth them across the lip and, voilĂ . You can read more about these on a post from this week here.

At £8 each these are great as they'll last a significant while. Also if you act fast, Boots currently have an offer, 3 for 2 on selected soap and glory cosmetics.

2. Maybelline 'Falsies Mascara Very Black'.

Maybelline do great mascaras, they're usually good quality especially the falsies. Given that you're supposed to change your mascara very regularly, if you don't have the funds to keep forking out for expensive ones then these are great at around £10 each.

3. Collection 'Lasting Perfection Concealer'.

This concealer is sworn by by many bloggers and makeup gurus alike. It's probably not the best you'll ever use but for £4.19 it covers dark circles and redness, it doesn't wear off easily and the colour range is great. The lightest one is ever so slightly too dark for me but I'm unusually pale and I still used to use this all the time. I'd definitely recommend if you want a good concealer but don't have much money. Given that you could pay a lot more for a product that is a lot worse.

4. Maybelline 'EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow'.

These are such a good product if you want a quick fix, and easy to apply colour on the lids. There is a large selection of colours and all are pretty great. They don't crease, not on me anyway. I'm not sure how they perform on oily eyelids but again at only £4.99 they're worth trying. They could even be used as a base for regular eyeshadow.

5. Max Factor 'Miracle Touch Creamy Blush'.

I have this in soft pink and it's such a lovely naturally flushed red-pink colour. I'm such a huge fan of cream blushers, I have a couple of high end ones but this is a great one too that I sometimes overlook. It's very creamy, easily blendable and buildable, and doesn't move my foundation. Apply it preferably with fingers, as a brush can matt-ify it, and one of the best things about cream blushers is that they are dewy and look natural. Would definitely recommend.

Let me know if you've tried any of these products and loved/hated them. I'd love to hear your opinions :)
